Work on U.S. 278 will require lane closures next week in Drew County, state highway officials have said.
Crews replacing drainpipes beneath the highway about 4 miles south of the U.S. 278 intersection with the Arkansas 277/Arkansas 293 intersection between Monticello and McGehee will reduce traffic on the two-lane highway to one lane, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said in a statement.
The lane reduction will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through July 16, weather permitting, the department said. Barrels, warning signs and flaggers will be used to control traffic.
