After not touring since 2005, Cher embarked on her 2014 Dressed to Kill Tour last week and makes a stop Friday at Verizon Arena.

Cher’s Living Proof: The Farewell Tour spanned from 2002-05 and featured 325 shows — the most by any female solo artist. The tour grossed more than $250 million, making it her highest-grossing tour ever.

After that final tour show in 2005 at the Hollywood Bowl, it appeared Cher had made her last road trip. The now 67-year-old award-winning singer/actress inked a deal in 2008 to perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The three-year deal (192 shows) paid $180 million. After releasing her 26th studio album, Closer to the Truth, in September 2013, she scheduled the Dressed to Kill Tour.

The tour includes 49 stops in the United States and Canada and concludes July 11 in San Diego. A stop in Phoenix last week kicked off the tour, and Cher stops at Verizon Arena on Friday at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.) with opening acts Neil Giraldo and ’80s rocker Pat Benatar. Cher’s last appearance in central Arkansas was in 2003 when she played then-Alltel Arena.

Cher has become a megastar over the past five decades with a music, television and film career that began in the late 1960s with her late ex-husband Sonny Bono. Cher has racked up an impressive list of hits, including “Half-Breed,” which spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in 1973, and “Believe,” which spent four weeks at No. 1 in 1999. She also reached No. 3 on the Hot 100 with “If I Could Turn Back Time” in 1989 and No. 6 with “After All” in the same year. “I Found Someone” peaked at No. 10 in 1988. Cher also has several movie roles to her credit. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in the 1987 movie Moonstruck, and starred in Silkwood, Mask, Mermaids and more.

Tickets are still available for the Friday night show, which could be the final time Cher graces the stage in central Arkansas. Ticket prices range from $36.50–$127 and can be purchased through ticketmaster.com.
