A food fight in the cafeteria of McClellan High School turned into a brawl Friday afternoon, leading to the arrest of 10 students, Little Rock Police say.

The juvenile students were arrested on charges ranging from disorderly conduct to third degree battery, Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said in an email.

When officers arrived at the school about 1 p.m., they found a teacher telling students to go to class or leave the property, a Little Rock Police Department report states.

At that point, one student who was standing outside of the school yelled at the teacher to “stop talking to me,” according to the report.

Police say this student exchanged words with officers as well, and took an aggressive stance toward the police before being handcuffed and taken into custody.

There is no more information at this time about what caused the fight, Allen said.

HM2 - And one of the best ways to get "this crap to stop", is to cease using derogatorily racial terms.

No the best way to stop this is severe punishment for minor infractions...many of the children today believe they can get away with anything....so punishment should be utilized...juvenile facilities and jails should be a place people DO NOT want to be sent to instead of a vacation, no tv...no radio....peanut butter sandwiches, no candy, soft drinks, Kool-Aid, no ac or heating, hot bunk the sleeping quarters so you've got 1 person in the cell for 12 hrs then they change out...when you're out if the cell you are working...bring back the chain gangs...

I totally agree. They should be placed in a facility with nothing to do but sit. With all that's been happening lately, all the "people" should have NO privileges.

Dangerous kids need to be taken out of the mainstream schools and sent to special schools for juvenile delinquents. Less offenses can be punished by being made to clean up. A day of picking up trash always is a good punishment.
