Sheriff: 11 injured in Arkansas school bus wreck

BONO — Craighead County authorities say a Bono man faces a drunken driving charge after he hit a school bus and sent eight students to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Craighead County Sheriff's office arrested the 22-year-old man on Thursday. He faces charges of driving while intoxicated and careless driving.

Three adults were also hospitalized. Their conditions are unclear.

Police say the man rear-ended the school bus as it stopped to let kids off. There were about 10-12 students on the bus.

Westside school district Superintendent Bryan Duffie says the children are expected to recover from their injuries.

The suspect was taken to the Craighead County jail after being treated for minor injuries. He is being held on $1,150 bond.
