Hundreds of real estate agents and community volunteers traversed rough terrain Saturday during the search for missing Realtor Beverly Carter.

Carter, 49, disappeared Thursday evening while showing a house to a potential buyer in rural Scott, authorities say.

At this point, Pulaski County sheriff's investigators would like to talk to whoever Carter was meeting at 14202 Old River Drive.

"Is that the person who knows something? Don't know. We won't know until we find that person," said sheriff's office spokesman Lt. Carl Minden.

Carter and her husband, Carl, live in Scott. So she likely felt secure meeting someone there, her friends in real estate have said.

Friday evening, a large crowd gathered for a prayer vigil at Crye-Leike in North Little Rock, where Carter works.

Early Saturday, hundreds met yet again, this time at Stonelinks Golf Course, also in North Little Rock, where a command post has been set up.

Some people joined the ground search, either on foot, horseback or in all-terrain vehicles. Others stood on the side of busy roadways, holding up signs with Carter's photo on them in the hopes that a passing motorist might have seen her.

Sheriff's investigators continued to canvass the area, talking to neighbors and business owners.

Once again, a helicopter went up.

Crye-Leike principal broker Brenda Rhoads said real estate agents from Tennessee and Missouri arrived to help in the search, along with volunteers from the corporate office in Memphis.

"We did a radio talk show today," she said. "We just want to get this out there so that people are looking for her."

Authorities say Carter called her husband at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and told him that she would be meeting a potential buyer at the vacant home on Old River Drive.

Another Crye-Leike real estate agent, Jane Carfagno, has said Carter planned to show a couple of houses that evening. Carfagno agreed to show another property on Carter's behalf.

Carfagno is one of at least two people to receive text messages from Carter's phone later that night.

The messages arrived after Carfagno, who had accidentally locked her keys in the house that she was showing, had tried twice to call Carter.

Sometime after 7 p.m., Carfagno received a text from Carter's phone. It said: "With a client. Call you back in a bit."

Carfagno texted back, explaining why she had called. "Are you in the area?" she asked.

"I'm in Lonoke," came the reply.

Carfagno asked whether there was a key hidden anywhere on the property that she could use to get in the house.

"No, sorry."

Like hundreds of other real estate agents, Carfagno has turned to social media to get the word out about her missing friend.

Crye-Leike in North Little Rock is doing the same.

Friday morning, as news of Carter's disappearance spread, the real estate firm posted a photo of the "Missing" flier with Carter's photo on its Facebook page.

The post read: "We are asking for everyone's prayers in this desperate time! Please share this on your pages and get the message out!!"

Rhoads said volunteers will resume the search at 10 a.m. today. They are to meet again near the golf course at Faulkner Lake Road.

Meanwhile, Crye-Leike has set up a fund at Centennial Bank. The money will be used either as a reward for anyone with a tip that leads to Carter's whereabouts, or for food and water for volunteers involved in the search.

Anyone with information about Carter is asked to call authorities at (501) 340-6963.
