Israeli strikes in Syria kill Hezbollah fighters

BEIRUT — The Lebanese Shiite militant group Hezbollah says that Israeli strikes in Syria have killed a "number" of its fighters.

The group made the announcement on its channel al-Manar on Sunday evening. It said it would announce the names of the fighters after their families were informed.

Syrian activists had earlier reported that Israeli strikes had targeted at least two vehicles in the Syrian-controlled part of the Golan Heights, one in an area known as "Mazaare al-Amal" and the other near a Syrian military base called "Talae al-Baath."

Hezbollah fighters have been battling alongside forces loyal to the Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Israel's military did not comment on the report.
