Gunmen steal car at gas station in LR

Little Rock police are investigating after a man was robbed of his car Saturday at a gas station.

Officers responded about 11:37 a.m. to a gas station at 1201 S. Woodrow St. They spoke to Melvin Woodbury, 51, who was "sweating profusely," according to a police report. Woodbury said he'd chased two men who had stolen his car minutes earlier. He said the men took his black 2006 Nissan Maxima at gunpoint and drove west.

No injuries were reported.

Police searched the area but made no arrests.

The carjackers are both described as black. One was 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and appeared to be about 27 years old, according to the report. The other was said to be 6-foot and 180 pounds.

Man's phone, keys stolen on river trail

A man was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday while walking on the Arkansas River Trail, Little Rock police reported.

According to a police report, 29-year-old Joshua Korte was walking on the trail near Rebsamen Park about 2:15 a.m. when two people jumped out of a passing Saturn and approached him. The men pointed a pistol at Korte and attempted to pistol-whip him, the report states.

Korte ended up facedown on the ground, and the robbers went through his pockets, police said. They took Korte's cellphone and keys and then got back into the Saturn and fled east.

Korte walked back to his home off Riverfront Drive and called police.

The robbers had not been identified Monday. The driver was described only as a black man. The men who approached Korte were said to be 5-foot-8, 150-pound black men who are 20 to 30 years old.

LR homes shot at; bullet strikes boy

Police are investigating after multiple homes in a Little Rock neighborhood were shot at Saturday and one person was hit.

About 2:40 p.m., officers responded to 4312 W. 18th St., where a 13-year-old had been shot in the back. According to a police report, the boy told police that he had been standing near the front window of the home when he heard gunshots and was struck.

Two others in the home -- 37-year-old Precious Dean and 20-year-old Deandre Graves -- told police they saw several black men running down the street. Dean said one man was carrying a firearm.

A 16-year-old and a 2-year-old were also in the home at the time.

About the same time, police were called to a home about a block away at 4323 W. 17th St., where 68-year-old Morris Thompson said a projectile struck his home.

Officers found multiple shell casings in the area of 18th and Abigail streets.

A suspect had not been named Monday.

Man checking mail hit, robbed of $300

Two men hit and robbed a Little Rock man while he was checking his mail Friday, according to police.

Joe Pal, 29, was in front of his home at 6301 Stagecoach Road at 3 p.m. when two men attacked him, a police report states. One of the men hit Pal in the head with a closed fist and the other man took him to the ground.

The robbers took Pal's house keys and $300, police said.

Pal declined to be checked out by emergency medical workers.

Police searched the area but did not find the robbers, who were described only as a young black man and a young white man.
