A Maumelle High School paraprofessional and former Arkansas Razorbacks football player was arrested Thursday after he attempted to sell prescription narcotics to an undercover officer, police said.

The undercover officer tried to buy narcotics from 36-year-old Sacha Lancaster in the Maumelle High School parking lot, Maumelle police said in a statement. Lancaster was then arrested on school grounds.

Lancaster is charged with delivery and possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Pulaski County Special School District spokesman Deb Roush said Lancaster is employed as a paraprofessional at Maumelle High School. He has been suspended with pay pending an investigation, she said.

Lancaster was taken to the Pualski County jail and his bond was set at $5,000. He was no longer listed on the jail’s inmate roster Saturday afternoon.
