Former Arkansas Razorbacks football player Sacha Lancaster was arrested Thursday at Maumelle High School after he attempted to sell prescription narcotics to an undercover officer, police said.
The undercover officer tried to buy narcotics from Lancaster, 36, in the Maumelle High School parking lot, Maumelle police said in a statement. Lancaster is employed as a paraprofessional at the school.
Lancaster is charged with delivery and possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Pulaski County Special School District spokesman Deb Roush said Lancaster has been suspended with pay pending an investigation.
Lancaster was taken to the Pulaski County jail and his bond was set at $5,000. He was no longer listed on the jail's inmate roster Saturday afternoon.
Lancaster played at Arkansas from 1998-2001, recording 79 tackles and seven sacks while playing defensive tackle and defensive end.
