A 20-year-old Conway man died playing a game of Russian roulette at a private Arkansas hunting property, police in Jefferson County said.

A news release from the Jefferson County sheriff's office said James Luke Baker was with three friends at the private Prairie Wings property adjoining the Bayou Metro Wildlife Management Area Saturday night when he accidentally killed himself.

Baker was reportedly smoking marijuana while two of his friends slept when he suggested playing the deadly game to another friend, police said.

According to the report, the friend declined to play while Baker loaded one round, pointed and fired an empty chamber at the ceiling.

When the friend went to wake the others, they heard the gun go off and found Baker in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to the head, the report said.

Baker's friends, unable to call for help on the 1,625-acre property, drove to the Jefferson County Medical Center where Baker was pronounced dead.

You didn't know the guy. Being ignorant and disrespectful toward a young man who just tragically passed away really shows us your true character. Show some respect and keep your opinions to yourself. His family and friends are reading these articles.

Guns and drugs can produce horrible consequences, just as cars and drugs can do the same with what happened in Stillwater over the weekend. Senseless and now 5 people are no longer with us

Terrible. A good guy I knew died the same way in '93. Alcohol was involved.

RoyDaMercer, I think it'd be silly to draw a connection between Marijauna and what this man did. If anything, alcohol or hard drugs would've been a more prominent factor in this case, just as in most similar cases.

I send my condolences to the family and friends of this guy, may they find the peace that they have lost from his passing.

Does anyone, however, possibly think this man was dealing with something personally, and therefore aiding in deciding to act in such a careless manner? Depression makes people act careless like this, I've seen it countless of times......Just seems like odd behavior otherwise, firing a shot at the ceiling then turning the gun on himself, suggesting to even play the game and then playing it alone....

Regardless, I hope this man found the peace beyond, that maybe he was missing, as well. RIP

For those of you of the "liberal persuasion" that means he lost.

Ignorant and Stupid at the same time, He played the Game and Lost, Some never have the Courage to play it to start with. It is a Matter of Perception. He should have signed up for the War Effort. Wasted Resources is what it was. Marijuana does not cause you to kill yourself, Marijuana is not a Bad Drug, It only has a Bad name from the Nixon Drug War years, Nixon was much worse than the WHOLE DRUG THING

I agree with Adamfrey95!!!! Who are you to judge? You have no idea what was going on there or with this young man. Live life to the fullest everyday, hug and love your family every single day, because when God calls you home all you have are memories and the hope to see them again some day. I pray that God will give this family the peace they need during this time of need. So sorry to hear of this news, know we are thinking of you!!!!

Whatever the reason, this young man had a death wish come true. Prayers for his family and friends.
