Library administrators give Chelsea Clinton a tour of the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library & Learning Center in Little Rock on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, shortly after Clinton spoke to students at Horace Mann Magnet Elementary School.

Chelsea Clinton met with students at Horace Mann Magnet Middle School in Little Rock on Friday, speaking on her new book and on the importance of being engaged in the world at a young age.

It's Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going! is aimed at readers ages 10-14 and went on sale Tuesday.

While a student at Booker Arts Magnet Elementary School in Little Rock, Clinton read 50 Simple Things Kids Can Do To Save The Earth, a book that she said influenced her.

"It treated me seriously. It didn't talk down to me. It didn't treat me like just a kid," she said. "It treated me like someone who deserved to know about climate change and pollution — someone who would be expected to understand what was happening around the world, and what I could do, even as a kid in Arkansas, to make a difference."

Clinton said she feels strongly that there are many kids hidden from the spotlight who are already making a difference, adding that the book informs readers of some of those efforts.

"You're never too young to make a difference," she said.

Clinton also made reference to her time as a student at Horace Mann Magnet Middle School, a junior high school at the time.

At the end of the talk, Clinton took questions from some of the students, who asked questions about her influences, life as a public figure and time as a student at the school.

Clinton also toured the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library & Learning Center on Friday afternoon and is scheduled to speak at the Clinton Presidential Center on Friday night.
