Lowell woman killed in two-vehicle crash

One woman died and a man was injured early Monday morning after a two-vehicle crash.

Lowell police went to the scene on Bloomington Street in the area of Custom Motor Concepts at 3:22 a.m., according to a police news release.

The vehicles had been involved in a head-on collision. Jerri Stamps, 48, of Lowell was driving south at the time of the wreck and was thrown from her vehicle, according to the release.

Diego Rodriguez, 20, of Springdale, was driving north. He had to be removed from his vehicle, according to the release.

Both drivers were taken to a hospital where Stamps later died from her injuries, according to the release.
