Amy Meins

Where I live: I'm a proud Park Hill resident. I always wanted to live here when I was a kid. This is the only house I looked at -- I waited outside like a stalker for an hour when I found it until I could scramble a real estate agent to show it to me!

Occupation: marketing and communications director at Colliers International Arkansas.

My favorite space is: my bedroom.

Why? I love its coziness in the wintertime. Big windows cover one wall so I get really pretty morning and afternoon light. Since it faces west, I never wake up with the sun in my eyes. And my favorite possession lives here -- the blue opaline chandelier! I found it at an antique store and loved it so much that I replaced my ceiling fan. I'd rather wake up looking at something pretty than be comfortable -- no one's ever accused me of being practical. With two big dogs and a cat controlling the rest of the house, this room is my quiet sanctuary. I purposefully don't have a TV in here to keep it restful. And my favorite books and trinkets are here as well -- like my grandparents' crystal door knobs. It's a sweet reminder of them every day.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Add a bigger closet. I'd love to find a way to expand it so it could hold all of my shoes.
