A man found shot in the neck in Pine Bluff last month has died from his injuries, authorities said Tuesday.
The Pine Bluff Police Department said in a statement that 32-year-old Eric Johnson died early Sunday morning at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, where he was brought after an officer found him in the road on the morning of June 24.
An incident report says the officer found Johnson on the ground near Dollarway Road and McConnel Circle. Police say he told them he thought he had been struck by a vehicle, but doctors later determined he had been shot with a handgun.
No arrests have been made.
In the statement, police said that Johnson had been at "one or more" residences in the Dollarway area the night he was shot. Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call authorities at (870) 730-2090 or (870) 541-5300.
