A man suspected of killing his mother and another person in Arkansas Saturday was fatally shot by police in Oklahoma later that evening, authorities said Sunday.

Robert Gentry, a spokesman for the Sevier County sheriff's office, said Andre Johnson, 40, was shot by police in Broken Bow, Okla., after leading officers on a car chase. He died from his gunshot wounds.

"He bailed out [from his car] and started shooting at law enforcement," Gentry said.

Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler confirmed the shooting in Oklahoma. A call to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was not immediately returned.

Broken Bow is roughly 28 miles from Horatio.

Johnson was the suspect in a shooting that left two people dead at 132 Cottage Hill Drive in Horatio at approximately 3 p.m., Gentry said. The sheriff's office has not released the names of the victims, but Gentry said one of the two was Johnson's mother.

The De Queen Police Department, Arkansas State Police and other law enforcement are assisting with the investigation.

The police seem to be very easily manipulated into shooting African-American male criminal suspects. This fellow basically committed suicide by manipulating officers into shooting and killing him, and denied the public and the victims' family the catharsis of a public trial and sentencing. We need non-lethal police weapons ONLY, so these suicidal felons can be arrested and punished while alive, and so we do not allow them to commit "suicide by cop."

Sarcasm or idiotic; hard to tell which your statement is NoRunDMC.

Hey RoyD - Sadly, Nodmcm represents a large segment of the population. Yes, it's insane to recommend the cops or anyone else use "non-lethal" defense against a bad guy with a gun. But insanity is their go to response. They REALLY believe cops should bring tasers, pepper spray, and a smile to a gun fight. SMH at liberal logic. SMMFH.
    .
This shooting of a black male by white cops was no less justified than the shooting in Baton Rouge. Were are all the BLM protestors?

You live by the sword. you die by the sword. He did wanted what he wanted to do, the police did their job. end of story.

Jesus told his disciples if you don't have a sword go get one. If they would have had automatic hunting rifles, they might have withstood the roman soldiers and we might not have Easter now. Nah, that's not good idea. my grand-kids love that holiday of pagan origins.

sea bass is right pepper spray is reserved for protestors setting in a row so that they can be easily sprayed with a vegetable product.

Where is the westboro John the revelator Church at these incidents?

jack , are you jumping the gun [ pun] , do you have all and ever them their & those facts? Kinda like a person who is a christian but never read more than 5% of the good book [ it is no excuse to say which good book as only one is the good book] but can comment all day long on what happened... Is it fair to say end of the story. What if these officers were under investigation for taking drugs out of the evidence room and getting high and did not do their job correctly? I see no proof of proof they didnt do it.

I would also point out this happened in Oklahoma. Can we trust a state that has a supreme court that says remove one of the versions of what is called the 10 Commandments?

I don't know Packman, maybe it will happen someday when we have nothing but non lethal criminals!

Leave it to ray to come up with the answer, Non lethal criminals! Sound wisdom from outside Little Rock, home of the #1 supporter of Trump , Mr. Hutchinson.

But if criminals and suspects cant be shot , many readers will lose their joy of knowing death is occurring out there in the tough world. That would be discrimination against those who joy is to know that somewhere someone is getting killed. Wouldn't that be sad to take away that glee? like telling a child at the time of the year of the celebration of the birthday of Sir Isaac Newton there is no white santa clause or that they cant get an automatic rifle for the holy days- 40 year olds are hard to reason with.

Sadly many here represents a large segment of the population, not following the Jesus sayings of turning the other cheek and to love your enemies. Not sure why sea bass and Raymond & karmel hate the family man Jesus and do not obey what he said modern America should do. He is pretty clear about what he said.

Nodmcm - are you willing to pay for this thugs' legal fees, food & board, while you are condoning these uncivilized thugs who continue to kill innocent people? Perhaps you should join the police force & be forced to use only non-lethal weapons against these armed POS's. I bet that would change your opinion.
