Dolly Parton to make tour stop in North Little Rock

Country superstar Dolly Parton is bringing her tour to North Little Rock this summer, Verizon Arena said Thursday.

The venue said the singer will perform at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 13 as part of her Pure and Simple Tour.

Tickets go on sale Monday and range from $66 to $120.50, the venue said. They are available for purchase at any Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000 or online. There is an eight-ticket limit per household.

Throughout her music career, Parton has amassed seven Grammy Awards, 10 Country Music Association Awards, five Academy of Country Music Awards, and three American Music Awards.

Parton also has a background in film with movies such as 9 to 5 and Steel Magnolias, and owns the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
