The South Division All-Stars won Tuesday's Texas League All-Star game 8-5 over the North Division All-Stars at Hammons Field in Springfield, Mo.
Arkansas Travelers pitcher Jordan Kipper took the loss. Kipper allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 12/3 innings.
First baseman Eric Aguilera was the only Travs position player to play in Tuesday's game. He went 0 for 2.
Three Northwest Arkansas Naturals participated in the game. Third baseman Mauricio Ramos went 1 for 2 with an RBI single in the fourth inning that cut the South's lead to 3-2. Frank Schwindel replaced Aguilera at first base but did not have a hit in three at-bats. Jake Junis struck out two in one inning of relief.
Frisco RoughRiders left fielder Ryan Cordell, who played for the South All-Stars, was named the MVP. Cordell finished 3 for 5 with a three-run home run in the sixth inning.
Corpus Christi Hooks shortstop Alex Bregman went 2 for 3 with a two-run home run in the first inning off Kipper.
Keegan Yuhl of Corpus Christi earned the victory after pitching the first inning. Jason Jester of the San Antonio Missions picked up the save.
Springfield Cardinals center fielder Harrison Bader led the North offensively, going 4 for 5. Cardinals second baseman Bruce Caldwell hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning.
