A van struck a tree in Searcy County, killing the driver Monday, Arkansas State Police said.
The man, 37-year-old David Moore of Oakland, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident shortly after 10 a.m. and taken to a local funeral home.
State police said in a report that the 1996 Ford Van van was traveling east on Arkansas 14 west of Harriet when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Police described the weather as cloudy and dry at the time of the wreck.
There have been at least 176 fatalities in crashes on Arkansas roads so far in 2016, according to preliminary state police records.
