Chef Marcus Samuelsson serves as executive producer and host of the six-part PBS series No Passport Required. It airs at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Aug. 7 on AETN. In the series, Samuelsson visits a new city each week to explore and celebrate the wide-ranging diversity of traditions and cuisines woven into American food and culture. It features musicians, poets, chefs, business owners, artists, community leaders and home cooks who have enhanced their local culture and food.
The six episodes visit Detroit, New Orleans, Chicago, Queens in New York, Miami and Washington. Cuisines explored include Lebanese, Vietnamese, Yemeni, Mexican, Caribbean, Trinidadian, Guyanese, Haitian and Ethiopian.
Samuelsson, who was born in Ethiopia and raised in Sweden, is a celebrated chef, restaurateur, author and Harlem resident.
