Authorities: Victim hit with gun, shots fired during robbery in North Little Rock

A 20-year-old Sherwood man was struck with a gun during a robbery Saturday that ended with at least one assailant firing shots as the victims ran away, authorities said.

The 20-year-old told investigators he and a 17-year-old friend had stopped near the intersection of North Little Rock's 19th and Marion streets shortly before 6:45 p.m. when "two black males in their late teens quickly approached their vehicle and opened the driver side door," police wrote in a report.

One of the assailants hit the 20-year-old with a gun before saying "On BD I'll shoot you white boy" and demanding his possessions, police wrote. BD is sometimes used to reference the Black Disciples street gang, though the report didn't specify if that was suspected in this case.

Both victims then ran off, during which time they reported hearing six gunshots. Neither was hit by gunfire.

The robbers left in the victims' Jeep Wrangler, though authorities later recovered the vehicle by tracking a GPS system inside it.

Police said they were able to use a Facebook page to identify one of the robbers as a 15-year-old. The report didn't indicate the teen had been arrested.
