Veterans Land Bank to hold workshop

The Veterans Land Bank will hold a workshop Saturday in Jacksonville to discuss programs and services to help veterans and their families become homeowners.

The Veterans Land Bank partners with municipalities, state agencies and public and private organizations to provide a means of revitalizing blight, dilapidated and available homes in Arkansas. Veterans interested in home ownership and who meet certain income guidelines can qualify for the program, according to a news release.

The Jacksonville event will be 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the Nixon Library, 803 Main St.

It will cover the costs, benefits and financial considerations of property available through the Veterans Land Bank. Discussion will be on the necessary financial position -- income, assets, debts, credit and credit repair -- to be a successful homeowner through the program.

Refreshments will be served.
