Small fire breaks out at Arkansas Frito-Lay plant

Firefighters responded to a small blaze at a Frito-Lay plant in northeast Arkansas early Monday, authorities said.

Jonesboro Fire Department Assistant Chief Alan Dunn said firefighters were called to the building at 2810 Quality Way shortly before 3 a.m.

The fire, which has broken out in a dryer, was already out when the agency arrived, Dunn added.

Firefighters checked the area for additional flames and removed smoke from the building, according to the assistant chief.

Dunn said there was nothing in a report on the blaze that indicated “any dollar loss” from smoke or fire damage to the plant. The business continued to operate after the fire.
