State police: 23-year-old Arkansan dies week after crash in which vehicle overturned

Authorities said Friday a 23-year-old Arkansan died this week from injuries he sustained in a crash earlier this month.

The wreck happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Oct. 9 on Arkansas 14 south of Yellville.

According to a preliminary report, 23-year-old Jesse J. Robertson of Marble Falls was driving a 1983 Nissan east when he lost control of the vehicle in a curve. The Nissan then traveled off the road, down an embankment and struck multiple trees before overturning, state police said.

State police spokeswoman Liz Chapman said Friday that Robertson died this week from injuries he sustained in the wreck.

A passenger in the vehicle, an unidentified female minor, was listed as hurt.

Authorities said the weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the Marion County crash.

At least 393 people have died in collisions on state roads this year, according to preliminary data.
