A Little Rock man accused of fatally shooting a 64-year-old in his car this summer surrendered to police Tuesday, and a second man already in police custody was also charged in the slaying, records show.

Christopher Greene, 26, and Darrin Jackson, 25, have been charged with capital murder in the killing of Maurice Culberson on July 7, Little Rock police said.

Officers said Culberson died shortly after dropping his brother off around 10:50 p.m. in the 1300 block of Jefferson Street, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported.

The men are accused of running up to the vehicle and firing multiple shots into Culberson’s upper chest as he sat in the driver's seat of his 2003 Lincoln Town Car, according to a previous report.

Culberson’s brother had not made it into his residence and was outside when the shooting happened, police said.

Greene was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after surrendering to authorities, records show. He was booked at 10:15 p.m. later that day into the Pulaski County jail, where he remained Wednesday afternoon in lieu of $1 million bond.

Jackson, who has been in the Pulaski County jail since Aug. 24 on a second-degree murder charge out of Little Rock, was charged Wednesday with capital murder in the case, Little Rock police spokesman Eric Barnes said.
