A northeast Arkansas high school student is accused of touching his teacher's buttocks during class Friday.
The 58-year-old Jonesboro High School teacher told officers that one of her students made a lewd comment and she called an administrator to remove him.
According to a report from the city's Police Department, she said that while she was waiting for help, she bent over to help another student, and the 16-year-old walked over and "touched or grabbed her on the buttocks."
The teacher believed the teen was under the influence of an unknown substance, the report states.
Another teacher told police he noticed the student acting odd, adding that he saw the teen throw a bag containing a red, powdery substance into a trash can.
According to authorities, administrators with the school said the teenager would be suspended 10 days. An officer noted that it was recommended the student be transferred to an alternative learning academy long-term.
The 16-year-old faces a misdemeanor charge of harassment, and the case was turned over to the juvenile probation office, the reports states.
