Where I live: My husband, Larry, and I live in a downtown high-rise.
Occupation: I am a wedding planner and an event planner working with many nonprofits and businesses.
My favorite space is: It's really a toss-up between my living room with the balcony that opens from the living room and my office/laundry room.
Why? We moved downtown five years ago from a large house in the Heights. With our children grown and gone, we were ready to downsize and declutter our lives. I love the feeling of being able to see the Arkansas River and the beautiful view of Little Rock from the balcony. Since we moved downtown we started collecting art by local Arkansas artists and this room is filled with that art. We have floor-to-ceiling windows in three rooms and it's wonderful to see the beauty in sunshine and rainy days. In my office I am surrounded by pictures of our children and grandchildren and fun artwork. Even the hot water tank is decorated!
If I could think of one change to improve this space, I would: I can't think of a thing I would do to change the space. We are enjoying the life of a high-rise and this season of our lives! We love being able to walk almost any place we need to go, feeling the vibrancy of downtown.
