Police vehicles are seen outside a Walmart in west Little Rock, after a bank branch inside the store was robbed Monday.

A man wielding a fire extinguisher stole an undisclosed amount of money Monday from a Little Rock bank branch, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched at 11 a.m. to an Arvest Bank inside the Walmart at 2700 Shackleford Road, the city's Police Department said in a tweet.

Police spokesman Lt. Michael Ford said the robber, whose name has not yet been released, did not open the fire extinguisher but swung it around and used it as a weapon.

The man took an undisclosed amount of money from the bank and robbed an individual prior to the heist, Ford said.

He was arrested and will face charges of aggravated robbery, robbery of an individual and theft of property, Ford said.
