Body found in woods near Arkansas college, sheriff's office says

Authorities said a male was discovered dead from a possible self-inflicted wound Tuesday in the woods near an Arkansas college.

A school resource officer at National Park College in Hot Springs found the body about 11 a.m. after someone called to report a suspicious vehicle, according to a news release from the Garland County sheriff's office.

The individual was located about 180 feet from the vehicle and appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot, sheriff's office spokesman Sgt. John Schroeder said.

The body was taken to the state Crime Lab for autopsy. Schroeder said foul play is not suspected.
