A Hot Springs man has won the first jackpot of a scratch-off game that launched last month, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery said Thursday.

According to a Facebook post from the agency, James Mitchell won $250,000 off a $250,000 Riches ticket that cost $10. He bought the ticket at a Shell gas station at 2224 Malvern Road in Hot Springs, the post states.

Mitchell plans to take a trip to Costa Rica with his winnings, lottery officials said. There are two $250,000 prizes remaining in the game, which began Aug. 28, according to the lottery's website.
