Acansa arts fest kicks off with Butler Center bash

VISUALLY APPEALING

Opening night for the visual and performing arts festival Acansa was held Sept. 18 at the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies.

Entertainment was by the area singer-songwriter duo A Rowdy Faith, made up of Allison Reid and Cate Davison. Guests also enjoyed viewing the center's current art exhibits, drinks and a buffet of finger foods.

The six-day festival -- which has a mission to foster creative collaborations between artists and the community -- held a series of events including visual arts, music, comedy and theater at different Little Rock and North Little Rock venues.

This is the fifth year of the festival, founded by Charlotte Gadberry. Dillon Hupp is the organization's executive director.
