THE SCOOP Grant guided the Tigers to an 11-1 record this year and their third consecutive 7A-West football championship. ... Bentonville's 10-0 regular-season record marked the first time the Tigers have gone unbeaten in the regular season since 2012. ... Returned to the Class 7A state playoff semifinals with a victory over Little Rock Catholic after not making it last year.

DID YOU KNOW? Since being promoted to head coach before the 2015 season, Grant has compiled a 48-13 overall record. More importantly, Bentonville has gone an impressive 33-2 in 7A-West Conference play and has a current 25-game win streak in league play dating back to the 2016 season.

QUOTABLE "When you reflect back to the beginning of the year, we knew we had a talented group. We were fairly inexperienced in a number of areas. So I feel like once the season is over, you look back and you're pleased with the result of the season to an extent of winning the conference and going 11-1.

"Obviously, you want to win the whole thing, and it didn't end the way we hoped. We knew we had a team that would compete, and these guys did that. Overall, it was a rewarding year, so some of the things we accomplished, although we didn't accomplish the ultimate goal."
