Kindred Spirits: Travel Channel series focuses on paranormal investigations

Now that the crumpled up Christmas wrap has been disposed of and the new year is at hand, our television viewing focus can and might change to things that are less cheerful and bright. If that's what you like, the Travel Channel has a few shows that might be of interest this week:

Kindred Spirits focuses on paranormal investigators Amy Bruni and Adam Berry, along with psychic medium Chip Coffey, as they perform multi-layer investigations that dig deep into the past to identify restless spirits and analyze any threats. They visit properties that were once used as orphanages and asylums, as well as private homes. The season premiere airs at 8 p.m. Friday.

• In 2017, Buzzfeed author and illustrator Adam Ellis captured the image of a ghost child in his New York apartment. He documented the haunting on social media and 14 million people followed his experience. Fueled by that experience, Ellis and friends Jen Lewis, a researcher and documentarian, and Paul Bradford, a ghost hunter and the lead investigator, are on a mission to help others understand their own hauntings. It premieres at 10 p.m. Friday.

• The team of paranormal investigators Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley, who are well-known to Travel Channel viewers, have teamed up again for the new series Ghost Adventures: Screaming Room, which premieres at 8 p.m. Thursday. On the show, the guys watch their favorite Ghost Adventures episodes and get candid with fans about their craziest experiences and comedic moments from their career.

• At 8 p.m. Wednesday, Paranormal Caught on Camera returns. The series looks at paranormal videos from around the world as a panel of experts breaks down the footage and analyzes what the eyewitnesses captured. The show also includes insights from specialists in the field and firsthand accounts from people who witnessed strange events.
