Officers found a 34-year-old man fatally shot inside the home.

A 34-year-old man was fatally shot Friday morning after a group of assailants broke into his Little Rock home and demanded cash before killing him, authorities said.

Police responded around 12:30 a.m. to a home in the 7300 block of Fairways Drive after a 911 call reporting an armed, masked intruder inside the residence.

Responding officers found Raymond Grayson Jr. of Little Rock unresponsive inside the home with apparent gunshot wounds, according to a police department statement late Friday morning.

Several people were in the home at the time of the shooting, police said.

Authorities said they believe three people were involved in the burglary and shooting, but the only available description was that they were males and at least one was wearing all black and a mask.

Investigators found signs that the attackers forced their way into the home, police said. The department said it was still reviewing what items were stolen.

No arrests had been made as of late Friday morning.

The reported address of the killing is just south of Western Hills Elementary School property.

The death marks the 10th killing of the year in Little Rock.

Several people there, one man shot and killed. Sounds more like an assassination with burglary to cover it up.

Zeebronz, . . .my thought, too; a revenge killing, collection of a drug debt, gang retaliation? In that neighborhood, (not exactly $750,000+ homes) the perps had to be looking for something.

Western Hills is a diverse neighborhood. It used to be a kinda swanky area “in the country”, with the club/golf course. Earlier this year, a young middle married couple were found dead in their home by their 14 yr old son. There’s a reward.
I don’t care about race of any of these people. I care that people are being killed in their homes, regularly.
I want the mayor to speed up his studying, interviewing, a get a LRPD chief picked & hired. And nip this in the butt!
    Pronto.

Little Rock is on an urban decline, ala Memphis. Crime will only get worse as law abiding citizens who can afford it move deeper and deeper into the suburbs. There they find cheaper housing and public schools where kids can learn in a safer environment that fosters learning. So sad.
