The brother of a western Arkansas homeowner helped hold two suspected burglars at gunpoint, pinning them down until police arrived on Sunday, authorities said.
According to a Sebastian County sheriff’s office report, two men broke into a Lavaca home around 7 a.m. The homeowner’s brother and a friend spotted them stacking items from the home by the road.
Police arrived to find the brother and his friend holding a rifle at the suspected burglars outside the home. Police identified the suspects as Johnny Hoang of Fort Smith and Thomas Link of Muldrow, Oklahoma.
The report said the men pinned down Hoang and Lee until deputies arrived.
The sheriff’s office said it recovered tools, cameras and other electronics. The report noted that the home's front door had been forced open.
Lee and Hoang face charges including felony residential burglary and theft of property. Both men had outstanding warrants, according to jail records.
Hoang and Link were booked into the Sebastian County jail.
Neither jail records nor the police report identified their ages or where they live. Deputies said the men didn’t have identification when they were arrested.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the men had an attorney to comment on the charges.
