FISHING HOT SPOTS

LAKE MAUMELLE Largemouth bass are being caught from 8-30 feet off steeper rocky banks or secondary channels with crankbaits, jerkbait and jigs. Kentucky bass are fair. Some White bass are being caught near brush piles with crappie at 20-30 feet. Crappie are scattered but are most consistently found in deep brush at 25-35 feet using using jigs and minnows.

SALINE RIVER (BENTON) Smallmouth, Kentucky and largemouth bass are biting No. 12 minnows and brooder minnows, crawdad-colored crankbaits and small spinnerbaits. Catfish are biting minnows and nightcrawlers on the bottom. Crappie are biting No. 6 minnows and Kalin's grubs in deep holes and in backwaters.

LITTLE MAUMELLE RIVER Crappie fishing is excellent with minnows and jigs at 8-10 feet. Bass fishing is good with crankbaits, minnows or jigs at 8-10 feet deep.

ARKANSAS RIVER (MAUMELLE POOL) Catfishing is excellent below Murray Lock and Dam with fresh shad. Catfish in the 2-5-pound range are being consistently caught. Crappie are about 10-12 feet deep and are biting white Road Runners near rip-rap. Bass fishing is fair with Rooster Tails and pearl swimming minnows working best. White bass are biting white bucktail jigs below Murray Lock & Dam.
