Fishing hot spots

LAKE DARDANELLE Largemouth bass are biting jigs and craws around wood and eddies in the river. In the creeks, bass are biting large worms and jigs on the bottom. On the main lake, bass are biting worms, deep-diving crankbaits, jigs and chiselers on swing heads. Stripers and white bass are fair in the creeks on crankbaits and Zara Spooks. Crappie fishing is fair with minnows and jigs. Bream fishing is excellent on worms and crickets and grasshoppers around rock stumps around creeks and river grass. Catfish are biting stink bait and perch off of river ledges.

LAKE OVERCUP Bass are biting buzzbaits and top-water spinners. Bream are spawning and are biting crickets and redworms. Crappie fishing is slow, but big crappie are biting at 7-14 feet over brush. Catfish are being caught on jugs and trotlines with bream and shad, along with skipjack.

BREWER LAKE Bass fishing is excellent on topwater baits and plastic worms. Bream are biting redworms and crickets. Crappie fishing is excellent at 13-18 feet depth around brush piles. Catfishing is good noodling and using minnows.
