The Little Rock Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, a national black women's service organization, honored chapter charter members Mary Louise Williams and Sammie Tollette on June 1.

The event was held at Saint Mark's Baptist Church and included the induction of the new members of Top Teens of America -- the youth arm of the organization. Top Ladies of Distinction was chartered in Texas in 1964 as a nonprofit educational, humanitarian organization.

Since its inception, the organization has expanded to include focusing on teens, the status of women, service to senior citizens, community beautification and community partnerships.

Saturday's event included greetings from National Area One Director Harnell Williams and the introduction of new inductees. The day also included a buffet luncheon.
