Blood center seeks donors
Currently the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks reports less than a three-day supply of all blood types. Donors are strongly urged to get to a CBCO Donor Center or blood drive near them and give this week.
Participants at this CBCO blood drive will receive a green "Adventure" T-shirt. It's a colorful reminder of the summer season and the gift that means so much for local patients.

Hobbs hosts photo seminar
Joan Reynolds from the Ozark Chapter of the Arkansas Native Plant Society will lead a wildflower seminar and photo walk at Hobbs State Park program at 5 p.m. June 22 at the visitor center, located on Arkansas 12. The program includes a presentation and discussion on spending time in the field to learn more about native plants, including discussion of non-native plants and habitat restoration.
In the second part of the program, equipment and techniques will be discussed to help achieve the desired artistic vision for photography. The class will feature nature photographer Tim Johnson from the Photographic Society of Northwest Arkansas as the instructor. After the indoor presentation, if the weather cooperates, participants will use the grounds and wildflower beds around the Hobbs visitor center for some hands-on practice and demonstration. Bring a camera, any type will do, and a tripod if you have one.

Crawfords reunite
The 30th annual reunion of descendants of early Arkansas pioneer settlers James Boyd Crawford and his wife, Nancy Jane (Davis) Crawford, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 29 at The Jones Center in Springdale. The Crawfords were homesteaders in the Ozark Mountains in the 1860s on what is now known as the "Pig Trail" in Madison and Franklin counties.
All Crawfords, kinfolks and friends of the families are invited. Those attending are asked to bring a vegetable, salad, fruit or dessert dish to share at the noon meal. Fried chicken, bread, drinks, plastic ware and paper goods are furnished.

Hobbs sets workshop
Lyshell Reann Hiatt-Blech will lead a nature painting workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. July 14 at Hobbs State Park visitor center, located on Arkansas 12 just east of the War Eagle Road intersection. Hiatt-Blech does personal art instruction, as well as group workshops for all ages, and will give step-by-step instruction. The $30 fee includes everything needed for the workshop. Cash or checks are accepted; preregistration is required. Minimum age is 8.

Perfect Harmony reunion planned
Perfect Harmony of Bella Vista will celebrate 20 years of singing together beginning at 2 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Highlands Christian Church, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd. in Bella Vista. All former and current members are invited. There will be a concert by the Perfect Harmony Women's Barbershop Chorus with a reception following.

Five and Dime seeks plays
The Five and Dime Drama Collective is now accepting play submissions for the fall performance series in Eureka Springs.
They are looking for 10-minute plays that have not been previously performed on stage. Submissions may be made now through June 30. One play per playwright may be submitted.
