Where I live: I live in Wingate, located in the midtown area of Little Rock. When Karen and I returned to Little Rock from Northwest Arkansas nine years ago, we knew we wanted to live in midtown. As a boy, my mom took me shopping at the old Park Plaza (I loved the swans!). My dad took me to Razorback games at War Memorial Stadium. I enjoyed class trips to the Little Rock Zoo. My church is located in Hillcrest. For me, midtown has a wonderful nostalgic feel to it!

Occupation: Senior Pastor, Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church

My favorite space is: our den/kitchen

Why? Our simple 1958 mid-century modern house has wonderful vaulted ceilings throughout. Our den and kitchen area is centered around a site-built fireplace that rises to the highest point of the beamed ceiling. Original paneled walls (now painted), bamboo floors, casual furniture, and a warm color scheme make it the perfect place to relax, read, watch TV and entertain friends. While the kitchen is tiny (and I do mean tiny!), it is the most usable kitchen space we've ever had. We love it! The den includes a small sunken area that looks out on our half-acre backyard filled with mature oaks, crepe myrtles and azaleas.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Replace the current window to the backyard with a floor-to-ceiling portal!
