A three-vehicle wreck involving a truck in southwest Arkansas on Tuesday afternoon left a Texarkana man dead and a woman injured, Arkansas State Police said.

The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. near Ashdown in Little River County when a 2014 Dodge Charger traveling south on U.S. 71 crossed the center turn lane and veered into oncoming traffic, authorities said.

According to a preliminary report, the Charger then collided with a northbound Mack truck. The truck then crashed into a pickup.

Troopers said the Charger driver, 51-year-old Harrison Neal, suffered fatal injuries. A passenger in the pickup, 36-year-old Tara French, also of Texarkana, was injured.

Conditions were described and clear and dry.

Preliminary figures show at least 155 people have died so far this year in crashes on Arkansas roads.
