Where I live: The Heights neighborhood near Forest Park Elementary School. It's a great area and I have the best neighbors. I live with my soon-to-be 17-year-old Yorkie, Lola, and my two Goldendoodles, Lottie and Frankie. I've lived here for almost 10 years and have renovated almost every room. I recently completed the biggest and most challenging -- the kitchen.
Occupation: I am a stylist at Caracalla Salon and Spa on Kavanaugh in the Heights, just minutes from my home. I love what I do and I enjoy making my clients feel beautiful.
My favorite space: My open living/dining/kitchen space.
Why? I am a big fan of an open floor plan, and before my recent renovation, all of the rooms in my house seemed like small boxes. I took the wall down between my kitchen and dining room and opened up both rooms to the living room, which is where I spend most of my time. You can usually find me there playing with the dogs, watching TV, listening to music, or just relaxing with my iPad after work. The dogs spend most of their time on the back of the couch patrolling the yard, watching for the mailman, and napping. I look forward to entertaining friends in my new open area.
If I could do one thing to improve this space, I would: Have a functioning fireplace.
