Barefoot Contessa: Cook Like a Pro Popular chef returns on Food Network

Halloween has almost come and gone, Thanksgiving is looming on the horizon and several cable channels have begun the rollout of Christmas movies and cooking competitions.

Food Network presents a constant diet of all things holiday this time of year. But it has cooking shows that air throughout the year hosted by tried-and-true favorites. Case in point is Ida Garten. Her Barefoot Contessa persona is that of a competent, soft-spoken cooking powerhouse. When she cooks for her husband and friends, then sets up a meal on the beach, who wouldn't want to join in?

Barefoot Contessa: Cook Like a Pro premieres at 11 a.m. today. In it, America's favorite hostess throws open the doors of her Hamptons home to share recipes and tips to help viewers take their cooking to the next level. The episode "Store-Bought Is Fine," shows Garten as she makes sweets, treats and more using store-bought ingredients. In the premiere she makes Raspberry Baked Alaska with Fresh Raspberry Sauce, Turkey Sandwiches with Brussels Sprouts Slaw, Roasted Eggplant Parmesan and Sweet Red Pepper Hummus.

At 10 a.m. today, Girl Meets Farm's Molly Yeh hosts a Halloween party for friends and makes Ghost Hand Pies with Honey Dipping Sauce, Broccoli FrankenTots with Lemon Garlic Mayo, Pumpkin Risotto and Matcha Monster Bundt Cake.

At 10:30 today, Trisha Yearwood gathers her closest friends for a party on Trisha's Southern Kitchen. The festivities include edible sea creatures, bloody dessert bars and stomach-curdling crudite, along with a zombie bash.
