Moonshot author to give talk in LR

Author and professor Douglas Brinkley will speak at the University of Arkansas School of Public Service on Friday about his new book on the space program.

The book, American Moonshot, explores the political, cultural and scientific factors that fueled the birth and development of NASA and the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space projects.

Brinkley is the Katherine Tsanoff Brown Chair in Humanities and professor of history at Rice University in Houston.

His speech, which is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., will be held at Sturgis Hall on the grounds of the Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., in Little Rock. Afterward, he will sign copies of his book.
