A suspect is in custody after Pulaski County deputies instructed residents near Brittany Point Drive to shelter in place.

The Pulaski County sheriff’s office wrote on Twitter around 6 p.m. that the person was in custody, and later added that the shelter in place order had been lifted.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Mitch McCoy said Thursday afternoon that deputies responded to a shots fired call, and it turned into a “manhunt” for an armed male.

A tweet from the department said the suspect was described as a black male wearing black pants, a white shirt and red bandana over his face.
