Chung Tan, business development manager for the city of Fayetteville's Economic Vitality Division, has been named one of North America's Top 50 Economic Developers of 2020 by Consultant Connect, a consulting agency designed to bridge the gap between economic developers and site consultants. Winners are nominated by their colleagues in the economic development industry and the site consultant community. Tan is responsible for recruitment of retail, restaurant and business development.

Sherry Sherrell has been appointed regional branch manager at Open Mortgage at 4285 N. Shiloh Drive, Suite 102, in Fayetteville. She is responsible for overseeing the new location, as well as three branches in Rogers, Grove, Okla., and Joplin, Mo. Open Mortgage -- with headquarters in Austin, Texas -- provides retail and partner loan officers training and support.

Dean LaGrone will assume the role of Springdale market president for First Security Bank. He has been employed by First Security Bank for more than 19 years. LaGrone earned his master's of business administration and bachelor's degree in banking and finance from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

Dr. John C. Frank recently joined Washington Regional as an emergency medicine physician. He earned his medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and completed an emergency medicine residency at Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge.
