Dollarway falls at home to DeWitt

Even on its home court, the iron has been unkind to the Dollarway boys basketball team.

The Cardinals missed an opportunity to move into a tie for third place in Conference 3A-6 as DeWitt picked up a 43-38 overtime victory Tuesday night at the Dollarway Fieldhouse. The Cardinals have lost four of five games on their home floor, where they average 33.2 points per game.

Dollarway (4-7, 4-3 3A-6) remains in fourth place in conference standings, one game behind its next opponent, Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School, for third. DeWitt (2-6, 2-3) pulled within contention of a playoff spot with the win.

Prince Okojie scored 12 points and Brandon Scarver had nine to lead Dollarway. Eddie Collins Jr. and Omar-ion Watson added six each.

The Cardinals, who average 51 points per game on the road, visit Lighthouse on Friday.

Lighthouse won the first meeting 38-33 in Pine Bluff on Dec. 8.
