Area contestants earn awards at Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen

LITTLE ROCK — Several young women from the Three Rivers Edition readership area were among the 40 contestants in the recent 2021 Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen Pageant at Robinson Performance Hall in Little Rock.

Miss Natural State’s Outstanding Teen Shelby Cook of Huntsville was crowned Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen 2021 on the afternoon of June 19.

Local contestants receiving awards on June 19 include the following:

• Miss City Light’s Outstanding Teen, Lindsay Grace Hague of Cabot, received the Frances Wilson Non-Finalist Talent Award of $500 given by CJ Wilson on June 19. Hague also tied for an Alpha Award in Talent of $100 in the preliminaries on June 15; Alpha awards are given to first-time contestants.

A daughter of Chris and Katie Hague, Lindsay is a student at Cabot High School. She presented a lyrical dance to “Never Enough” for her talent, and her platform is “Be Kind Without Expectations.”

• Miss Conway’s Outstanding Teen, Kensley Flynn of Cabot, received the Non-Finalist Interview award of $500 given by Jane Slocum on June 19 and the Overall Alpha Interview Award of $200 given by Alliance Utilities. Flynn tied for the Preliminary Evening Gown Award on June 16 and received a $100 scholarship given by The Royal We. She also received the Alpha Award in Evening Gown during the June 15 preliminary competition.

A daughter of Sherry and John Flynn, Kensley is a student at Cabot High School. She presented a vocal rendition of “A Piece of the Sky” for her talent, and her platform is “Allergy Awareness for LIFE.”

• Miss Greater Little Rock’s Outstanding Teen, Tori Lane Kiser of Cabot, was among the Top 15 Semi-Finalists, receiving a $250 scholarship on June 19. She also received the Sharon Bale “We Are More” Award of $500 given by Bill Tarkington and Mike Spivey.

Kiser was also a Teens in Action finalist and received a $100 scholarship given by Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen 2018 Camille Cathey.

A daughter of Rick and April Kiser, Tori is a student at Cabot High School. She presented a lyrical dance to “Right Where I’m Supposed to Be” for her talent, and her platform is “Inclusion Is Key: Advocating for Special Olympics.”

• Miss Heartland’s Outstanding Teen, Haven Williams of Jacksonville, was among the Top 15 Semi-Finalists, receiving a $250 scholarship on June 19. She also received the Judges’ Rising Star Award of $100 given by the judges panel.

She received an Alpha Award in Fitness and tied for the Alpha Award in Talent, receiving $100 for each on June 18.

A daughter of Jennifer and Samuel Williamson III, Haven is a student at Sylvan Hills High School. She presented an acro-jazz dance to “You Can’t Stop the Beat” for her talent, and her platform is “Suicide Prevention and Awareness.”

• Miss Historic Batesville’s Outstanding Teen, Jordan Young of Batesville, tied for an Alpha Award in Fitness on June 18, receiving a $100 scholarship.

A daughter of David and Toi Young, Jordan is a student at Southside Charter High School. She presented a jazz dance to “Emergency,” and her platform is “Get Up, Get Active.”

• Miss White River’s Outstanding Teen, Riley Strube of Cabot, was in the Top 15 Semi-Finalists, receiving a $250 scholarship.

A daughter of Dustin and Andrea Strube, Riley is a student at Cabot High School. She presented a tap dance to “Dr. Jazz” for her talent, and her platform is “Ready, Set, Serve.”
