Stephen Caldwell leads Schola Cantorum in rehearsal for “Carmina Burana.” According to Britannica.com, composer Carl Orff drew his text for the 1936 cantata from a 13th-century manuscript. Containing songs and plays written in Latin and medieval German, it was discovered in 1803 at the Bavarian monastery of Benediktbeuern. “Carmina Burana” translates to “Songs of Beuern.”
