Arkansas’ Bill Whitworth dies at 87; was editor at New Yorker, Atlantic

An Arkansan who served for 20 years as editor-in-chief of The Atlantic Monthly died Friday.

William Whitworth of Little Rock was 87.

Katherine W. Stewart said her father died after a series of falls and surgeries.
