Robert Baynes, 61, of Lonoke died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010. He was born Aug. 16, 1948, in Monroe County to the late George and Velma Johnson Baynes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Baynes was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Baynes. Mr. Baynes is survived by his brothers, George Louis Baynes (Judy) of Wheatley and Nolen Baynes of Brinkley; and sisters, Louise Skupenski (Chester) of Ocala, Fla., Alpha Patton (Sonny) of Wilmer and Betty Baynes of Brinkley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mike and Dawn Verkler. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, with funeral services starting at 2 p.m. at New Horizons Baptist Church in Ward. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cabot. Memorials may be made to the church at 13018 Hwy 38 North, Ward, Ark. 72176.
